Several years ago we stopped at a lovely little place called the Island Tiki Bar in marathon for some lunch. I recall it being quite good and laid back. They seem to have redone the place so now there is an actual parking lot (not just rocks), a huge seating area, including a large outdoor space . . . → Read More: The Island

You know by now I am foodie, I am a wine geek and I am obsessed with all things Key West. I am not, however, a fancy car person, an expensive watch person or an expensive toy person. Well, except for my new phone – an HTC Hero, but that is another story for another day.

Going out on a boat is really one of the great joys of being in the Florida Keys. Sadly for me, I don’t own a boat, so either I need to (a) go on some sort of party boat, (b) charter a boat or (c) find a friend with a boat. Option C will work out . . . → Read More: Come Sail Away

When we were in Spain in 2007, we ate plenty of tapas. It is hard to avoid there, and really, why would you want to? Here, on the other hand, very easy to avoid. I went to Santiago’s Bodega with 3 other people, and as they serve small plates, we sampled a lot. Grab a snack, . . . → Read More: An Interesting Mix

Using my own version of logic, I decided that after spending a rather long time exercising, I deserve some Key Lime Pie Stuffed . . . → Read More: Key Lime Pie – it’s not just for breakfast anymore

Yes, we are back to Fantasy Fest here, but no, this is not about what you think it is about. I promise.
There I was, decked out like a bad 80′s rocker, complete with pink hair, on my way to meet some friends for the Masquerade March. This is the one where people dress up, march around . . . → Read More: Size Matters

It had been years since I last visited Mangia Mangia on Southard Street. Why it had been so long, I have no idea. Mangia Mangia has one of the best restaurant wine lists around, and most likely the best in Key West (although I think a little more hands-on research is needed here.)

Fantasy Fest seems to inspire all kinds – truly creative costumes, amazing body painting and, for some people, nudity for the sake of nudity. The parade is a huge array of floats with thousands of spectators. All in all, a good time. Here you will find some photos of the parade, and some of the more . . . → Read More: Fantasy Fest Parade
