I’ve learned a few things this weekend: 1. I need a drag queen to show me how to properly wear a wig so that my hair underneath does not show and 2. running in the pouring rain sucks. Saturday morning the Key West Team in Training people met, as always, at 6:00AM at the White Street Pier for our regularly scheduled training run. You may have noticed the purple box on the side of this page that says “Donate Now” (if you haven’t, now is a good time to notice, and take action). This is to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and support me in the Disney Half Marathon on January 8, 2011.
That is 13.1 miles. I have never run more than three blocks. I will be training for the next three and a half months to be able to complete this course. Why would a person who has never run suddenly decide to do this? Good question. Continue reading In Training

At the entrance to the seven mile bridge (or exit, depending on which direction you are traveling), in Marathon, is the 7 Mile Grill. This little hole-in-the-wall was recommended to a friend of mine for their conch fritters and beer.
