While the rest of the country is freezing (I know, I was in New York City last week), we will be enjoying our flip-flop wearing and wine drinking on the beach. Next Wednesday begins the annual Key West Food and Wine Festival, and it will be spectacular. Now in its eighth year, the well-planned events are upscale and unique.
WINEMAKER DINNER SERIES
There have been winemaker dinners in the past, and this year brings an entire series. Each dinner is $150/person inclusive of tax and gratuity and features a different winemaker. Wednesday, January 25, the series kicks off at Southernmost Beach Cafe with a dinner featuring Justin wines from Paso Robles, California, paired with a unique, five-course menu.
Thursday night’s dinner features Sara Brewer from Niven Family Estates at the Southernmost House featuring a five-course seafood menu, each paired with a different wine. Friday night, Luciano Castiello, Brand Ambassador for Castello Banfi, brings a Key West-inspired Italian menu to the Reach Resort. The final dinner on Saturday, January 28, will be held at Banana Cafe and features Domaine Bousquet wines. The menu focuses on cheeses and fish, so if you are not a meat-eater, this is the menu for you.
