It is that time of year again… 2012 is nearly in the rearview mirror and it is time to look ahead to 2013. Tonight we are going to have dinner with some friends and there are promises of rack of lamb (we have a 2003 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes set aside for the occasion) and risotto. And then it is time to look forward to 2013.
I don’t make resolutions. I have good ideas (and sometimes not) throughout the year that I try to implement. Some are more successful than others. This past year I launched two new businesses, and proceeded to get very little sleep. We launched 3 Loud Women in May, to an eager crowd of viewers, and continue to air new episodes every Wednesday. (Wait? you haven’t seen them? Click here to sign up for the mailing list. Never miss another episode!)
When June rolled around, I launched Babka Bars, a line of all natural, gourmet dog treats. Why? Because I was sick and tired of not finding good quality healthy treats at my local shops. My dog deserves better, and I was going to give it her. When other people heard that I was making Babka treats, they wanted some, too.
Overall, it was a good, if exhausting, year. I am looking forward to enjoying every minute of 2013. I hope to continue the super-fun-but-bad-for-the-waistline trend of good food and wine with good friends. I am looking forward to a little traveling, although no plans yet. Most of all, I am looking forward to taking a nap, outside in the warm sunshine, by the pool. What about you? Share your resolutions in the comments below!
