As I am still comfortably settled in with my food coma, I thought this would be a good time to recap all of the great food last night. Family, friends and a yummy dinner made it all fabulous. Any good dinner party starts with the wine, and last night’s was an all American lineup.
Hors d’oerves included the ever-popular mini pigs in blankets, potato knishes (made by my mom), and deviled eggs (with homemade mayo – a product of my crazy diet).
The main event included butternut squash soup, turkey, wild mushroom and sage stuffing, sweet potatoes (made by my cousin), potato latkes and cranberry apple sauce (an homage to Hanukkah), roasted Brussell sprouts and asparagus. The bird was expertly carved by FKGuy.
Of course, my favorite part of the meal is dessert, and this year was a little excessive. We had pumpkin pie, apple tart (both homemade), and jelly donuts and Hanukkah themed cookies (all store bought).
