Al Maidah, Arabic for “the table filled with food,” is Key West’s newest Middle Eastern restaurant. Housed off the tourist path on White Street, this location has housed several other restaurants in the seven-and-a-half years we have been in Key West. I hope this one sticks around.

The few, sad, mediocre restaurants in downtown Hollywood are slowly being replaced by places that don’t suck. First Ends Meat came along, bringing casual and delicious food to a sorely lacking area. Now, Pesce & Pasta has opened in the former Face location, and it is a welcome addition to […]
One cannot live on smoked fish alone. Well, maybe some people can, but as much as I love the stuff, I need some variety. Plus, I had other people to see, and that meant checking out a couple of new (to me) New York City restaurants.

The Florida Keys enjoy an abundance of seafood, laid-back charm, and beautiful scenery. It is not difficult to find a roadside restaurant with fantastic water views and Made 2 Order is no different. The inside is small, old, and not terribly inviting. The back patio, however, boasts a peaceful canal view.
The folks at Seven Fish, formerly housed on the corner of Olivia and Elizabeth Streets in Key West, bought land and built a shiny new restaurant. Watching the construction, it seemed like it took forever. The restaurant closed in the old location for their annual summer vacation in September and reopened in […]
