I saw the construction and the sign for Mrs. Mac’s new building for what seemed like a really long time. After inquiring, I learned that the new location up the street is, in fact, a second location and they would not be moving or closing the original location.
The second location, at Mile Marker 99, is located int he middle of the road, providing easy access for both northbound and
southbound travelers. Plus, there is ample parking, unlike the original location. The new spot is huge. It has to seat twice as many people as the original. I was pleased to also see they have added a few new things to the menu, while still retaining many of my favorites. They even have a really lovely outdoor space (even though it does look out on the busy road) that is pet friendly. Babka enjoyed her time there, as well.
We shared the fish tacos, made with fresh mahi-mahi and a Greek salad topped with blackened mahi-mahi. The three tacos were filled with a lot of fish, and topped with cabbage and pico de gallo. Guacamole and salsa were served on the side. The tortillas were grilled and the end result was nothing short of yummy.
The Greek salad was very large. The fresh salad with feta, tomatoes, Kalamata olives and onions was garnished with pita chips and a huge piece of fresh, blackened mahi-mahi. I absolutely loved it. This is a salad I could eat all the time, it was just that good. The service at Mrs. Mac’s is always good, and the new decor is snazzy. From the floor-covering artwork to the license plate lamps, it is a fun eatery with great food. Check it out.
