Every year on the Friday of Fantasy Fest, locals and some non-locals gather at the cemetery, in costume, and parade around the city. The group, several thousand strong, split in 2 groups and go in different directions, stopping at guesthouses along the route for (much needed in the heat) drinks.
Most people are costumed in some way. Although it seems that some people think “costume” means “birthday suit”. Attention Stringman: A piece of string around your waist with a few pieces hanging off of it does not make a costume. You should consider wearing just a little bit more next year.
