When I saw Le Petit Paris pop up recently, I thought to myself, “just what we need… another French cafe, across the street from one and a couple blocks away from one of my favorites, Le Creperie.” When we went there as part of the neighborhood stroll during the Key […]
Restaurant Reviews
After enjoying the Aperitivo party a couple of weeks ago, we decided to give the restaurant a try, too. I did not realize the traffic nightmare that stood between me and great pasta. We left my parents house in North Miami Beach for the twenty minute drive to South Beach. […]
We had plans to go out to dinner with friends in November, which became December. Finally, the third week in January, we got to see them and made our way to dba/cafe in Fort Lauderdale. We knew about dba because it was opened by one of the former owners of […]
I tend to like small, owner-operated restaurants. I am not typically a fan of chains (except maybe Chipotle for a quick lunch in a pinch). So, when my parents made a reservation at Sea Grill for their anniversary, I was expecting a small, intimate restaurant. I was wrong.

We had lamented for years the lack of good pizza here, and all of a sudden there is an abundance. Between Roostica on Stock Island, Zaza’s in Sugarloaf, and now Onlywood in Key West, we should be set for a while. Assuming they all stay in business for a while.
A few weeks ago when a friend told me I should try Zaza’s, my response was “Eh, I never want to dive that far for lunch,” as if the 17 mile drive to Sugarloaf Key would kill me. Then I found myself driving south from Hollywood, in Sugarloaf, at lunchtime. […]
I have to admit when I go to restaurants owned by “celebrity chefs” I am usually a little skeptical. There is a lot of hype, and it is supposed to be good, but will it? The “celebrity chef” is not usually in the kitchen, so it is a matter of how […]
