The onset of winter in most places brings dread, cold, dreariness and snow. Not so in Florida. The onset of winter is also the beginning of festivals, happenings and events for months to come.
You know how I love the Key West Food and Wine Festival, and there will be more on that in a couple of weeks (including a discount code for tickets!) but for now, I want to focus on the more immediate: Boca Raton Food and Wine Festival, coming up November 9 – 11, 2012. The weekend is sure to bring a lot of happy wine sippers to Boca, as there seems to be an event for almost everybody.
The event kicks off Friday with a choice of a four course wine dinner or the Vineyard Party, which both seem like they would be a lot of fun. The dinner is $150/person and the Vineyard Party is a palatable $55/person. Saturday brings the Grand Tasting ($100/person) with loads of wines to try, as well as food from over 70 South Florida chefs. Come hungry, people, as it seems there will be ample nibbles. Sunday brings the Jazz Brunch ($75/person), which I am looking forward to attending. Any brunch that includes fresh fish along with Bloody Marys and Mimosas has got to be a good one.
For more information, please check out their website, and if you are planning to go to any of the events, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
